Participants from more than 50 countries are expected to take part in the International Conference for Research Infrastructures (ICRI) 2018.
Speakers representing high-level stakeholders from across the globe and high profile institutions will intervene in the debate.

The Austrian Presidency of the Council of the European Union starts in a little bit more than a week. This will be an exciting time, not just for Austria, but especially for Science and Research. Not only will Austria begin discussions on the next European Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development, Horizon Europe, but we are very excited to be able to host the 2018 International Conference on Research Infrastructures –ICRI 2018.

Over the last year an international programme committee has put together a programme that addresses most, if not all, of the current issues on research infrastructures. The conference will address strategic issues and the development of international cooperation for research infrastructures at a global level, as well as their contribution to societal challenges. It will also address issues related to the operation and implementation of research infrastructure with a parallel session, for instance, on human resources.

ICRI has established itself since 2012 as an international platform for strategic thinking and exchange of experience. ICRI 2018 will continue this trend, and address several important issues. The world is changing fast and new technologies are revolutionising the way in which data can be shared and used. ICRI 2018 has a special focus on the international perspective and also examines ways in which new types of infrastructure are being developed and used across the globe.
