Javier Terán

Javier Terán is a statistician and humanitarian data specialist with more than 20 years of experience across the United Nations system and national statistical agencies. He currently works with the Centre for Humanitarian Data at United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Geneva, supporting the Humanitarian Data Exchange (HDX), OCHA’s open platform for sharing humanitarian data. His expertise includes humanitarian data systems, data quality assurance, business intelligence, and statistical analysis. Prior to joining OCHA, he held statistician roles with the United Nations Statistics Division, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the UN Department of Field Support, and Statistics Canada.
