The Lithuanian Data Archive for Humanities and Social Sciences (LiDA)

The Lithuanian Data Archive for Social Sciences and Humanities (LiDA) is a virtual digital infrastructure for data acquisition, long-term preservation and dissemination established at the Kaunas University of Technology. The archive promotes access to the national and international collections of digital data in the social sciences and humanities in Lithuania. All the international and national data resources are documented in both Lithuanian and English.

LiDA digital catalogues contain social survey data, historical statistics and data about Lithuanian political system. LiDA services are also available through the catalogue of the Lithuanian Virtual Library.

Senior Researcher Vaidas Morkevicius about CESSDA

“We had a series of visits to CESSDA member institutions in 2008. These visits helped to understand what an archive is, how important the metadata standards are, how to properly operate the archive, and we follow those rules now.

CESSDA is important for how to describe your data with appropriate metadata fields, whether they are optional or mandatory.” Vaidas Morkevicius, Senior Researcher at LiDA.
