IASSIST2016 - NSD is hosting the global data conference
The world’s largest conference on information technology and data services for research in the social sciences took place in Bergen.
The 42nd annual IASSIST conference was locacted in Norway, bringing together experts from all over the world with the intention of strengthening international collaboration and the development of technical and academic aspects of the social sciences.
“NSD has a long tradition of presenting papers at these conferences and participating in their workshops. It is therefore a great pleasure and privilege to bring leading experts in this field to Norway and Bergen,” says NSD’s director Bjørn Henrichsen.
The first IASSIST conference was held in Cocoa Beach in California in 1977, and the 2015 meeting will take place in Minnesota. Conferences have been held in all Nordic countries with the exception of Norway; the last one in Scandinavia was in Tampere in 2009. At least 250 participants were expected to meet up in Bergen between 31 May and 3 June 2016.
