CESSDA celebrates 50th anniversary with conference
Fri 27 Mar 2026

This year, CESSDA ERIC turns 50, marking the occasion with a four-day conference in Bergen, Norway. While the program for day 1 and 2 are exclusively for members of CESSDA, day 3 and 4 are open for all audiences.

50 years ago, a handful of European data repositories came together to create CESSDA. Since then, the organisation has grown to include members from the farthest corners of Europe, and our network of colleagues stretches across the globe.

This summer, CESSDA is inviting guests and speakers to a 4-day conference in Bergen, Norway, to celebrate the work that has been done, and to strengthen synergies and foster meaningful dialogue about data across disciplines, institutions, and borders.

The conference website is now available for all audiences. Here, you can browse the program, read about the speakers, and check out some of what Bergen has to offer.

As spots are limited, attendees are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible. All attendees are invited to attend the opening ceremony at the historic King Håkon’s Hall, as well as the closing dinner at The Fresco Hall.

The conferences will be a truly international affair, with speakers coming from organisations all across the world:
